Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the highly anticipated next installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), based on the iconic DC Comics superhero. Starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, this sequel promises to take us back to the depths of the kingdom of Atlantis, with an even more epic, visually stunning, and emotionally intense story.

The film is produced by DC Films, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster Productions, with distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. James Wan returns to direct after the success of the first film in 2018, based on a script written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Along with Momoa, the cast includes Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Jason Momoa proposed an original idea for a sequel during the filming of the first film, but James Wan decided to take the time to craft a more ambitious and in-depth story. His role as director was officially confirmed in August 2020, and the official title was revealed in June 2021. Filming began that same month in London.

The new installment will expand the Aquaman universe, exploring unknown corners of Atlantis and pitting the hero against new threats that will test his power, his legacy, and his alliances. With large-scale action scenes, stunning underwater landscapes, and a narrative that blends mythology, politics, and family, Aquaman 3 is set to be one of the most anticipated cinematic events of 2025.
